We know you may have some uncertainty before deciding to adopt. We hope we can answer a few of your questions and help you make the right decision in choosing to bring your new Cavapoo home, and bring clarity to how we do things here at Virginia Cavapoo Connection.
Common Questions
Are you able to ship the puppies?
We NEVER ship our puppies. Our babies leave our home in your arms, never in a shipping box. It is too stressful for them and we want to meet their new family to make sure it is a good personality match. If you live far away, coastal Virginia makes a great mini vacations, and a puppy can ride home with you on the plane. Additionally, we are available to drive to meet you at a reasonable halfway point
Are there any requirements for adoption of the dog?
We deeply care about the puppies we raise, and want to make sure that they will be well cared for. For all puppy adoptions, we require proof of pet insurance. You can sign up for a policy your date of pick up and send us your insurance policy number and the name of the insurance company for us to keep on file. We highly suggest Trupanion as they offer coverage for your new puppy within 24 hours, however any active pet insurance policy is welcome.
We have a screening and adoption form for you to fill out, and meetings are required to take our puppies home. We do not accept money blindly and give our puppies away. Our process ensures that you will be the right candidate for your puppy and vice versa!
What should I have ready to bring my Cavapoo home?
It's important to have essentials ready. Water and food bowls, a comfortable bed, toys for teething / play, an identification tag, treats, a crate, puppy pads, and a designated potty area. We also suggest puppy proofing the home, as puppies can be rambunctious and get into things like wires. Always keep an eye on your puppy and be ready to give lots of time, attention, and love!
How do you set up a meeting?
Simply give is a call, text, or email and we will get everything set up! Facetime is available for iphones, and we can use Zoom for android phones or computers. If you are able, we are happy to coordinate in person meetings as well, we just ask that if you are unable to make it, to please contact us for rescheduling / canceling your meeting.
Additonally, we are happy to meet several times. We understand that adoption is a big deal, and want to make sure that you know this is the right decision for you before moving forward. We are always available for questions via email, text or call, and will respond within 24 hours to any inquiries we recieve.
Do you require payment for meetings?
NO! We do not require any form of payment for setting up a puppy meet. We only require a deposit payment should you decide to reserve / hold a puppy.
Do you offer a payment plan?
No, we do not offer payment plans. We do allow for the post-dating of checks, however all payment is due upon adoption. We accept Cash, Checks, and Zelle.
